With Terry Francona taking much of the heat for the Red Sox collapse and subsequently finding himself on the unemployment line, Boston is in the middle of searching for his replacement. And there's a chance they may bring in another guy with Phillies connections.

Pete Mackanin, the Phillies bench coach perhaps best known for writing out the daily lineup cards in calligraphy, was the first guy interviewed for the vacant manager position in Boston. [videos + extras below]

J-Roll in San Fran?

Mychael Urban of CSN Bay Area thinks Rollins at 5 years is a "terrible fit" for the San Francisco Giants due to their young shortstop Brandon Crawford. He goes on to add that J-Roll could be a good fit on a shorter 3-year deal for reasonable money, but if that's the best Rollins can garner, wouldn't he just stay with the team he helped turn into a champion?
