A couple of Phillies notes before Joe Blanton takes the mound today at 1:05 (TCN) to take on the New York Yankees. It'll be Blanton's first real start since May of 2011. Placido Polanco will also get his first start of spring.

Jimmy Rollins' glove contract with Nike expired after last season and J-Roll has opted to switch glove makers for the first time in 11 seasons. He'll rock a custom-made Mizuno this season. “It’s not the glove,” he said. “It’s the person using it.” [CSN]

Freddy Galvis knows who the Phillies shortstop is for the next few seasons so the top shortstop prospect in the system has asked to get some work at second and third this spring in an attempt to break into the bigs as a utility guy. "'I think it's a possibility,' said Galvis, who doubled home a run in
Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Yankees. 'I have to find the way to get there. I
want to play in the big leagues. If I have to play a different
position, I'll play it.'" [Inquirer]

Michael Martinez's spring as the team's primary utility infielder got off to a rocky start. He had two errors in Sunday's game with the Yankees. But Cholly isn't worried just yet. “He had a rough day,” the skipper said. “But it’s only the second game
we’ve played. At the same time, you’d like to catch those balls. “Michael did a good job defensively for us last season. One off day doesn’t mean he can’t play defense.” [CSN]

Roy Halladay pitched well in his spring debut on Sunday but did give up a solo shot to Alex Rodriguez. [CSN]

Finally, the best thing you'll hear all day. "Roy Halladay Breaks Snakes," a rap song by 94 WIP legendary caller Flula. For a full review of the song, check out Zoo with Roy's response.
