Amazing moments are few and far between these days down at Citizens Bank Park but those in attendance on Saturday afternoon were treated to a very special one.

Jimmy Rollins hit a routine single to right field to pass Mike Schmidt as the Phillies All-Time hit leader. That itself was a pretty neat thing to witness. Then a guy in No. 20 jersey came running out onto the field to congratulate J-Roll.

It was special. And I was happy to be sitting in the outfield stands when it happened.

Phillies fans have seen some memorable moments in South Philly since the team moved to their new digs a decade ago. I was there for Jim Thome's 400th home run, to see the team reach the playoffs on the final day of the season, Shane's grand slam against the Brewers, Ryan Howard hitting 58 home runs, Brad Lidge falling to his knees, Chase Utley dropping the famous "World F*****g Champions" line, Roy Halladay throwing a no-hitter.

This team has provided some wonderful memories. Jimmy and Michael Jack's may have been the last of this generation.

Hopefully, not though. The way baseball goes, we're bound to get a few more that we'll never forget. That's the way baseball goes. Stick around long enough, go to enough games, and you'll eventually see something special. This Phillies team has provided plenty.

Schmidt passing the record to Rollins in person was one hell of a memory I'll never forget.
