Only God Knows When the Mets Will Be Good Again, Says Carlos Beltran

You almost have to feel a little bit bad for the New York Mets*. Ever since that fateful collapse in 2007, they've fallen on some really hard times.

Current outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals and former Mets slugger Carlos Beltran was asked about his former team, which he'll face in spring ball today, and says they'll find a way to turn it around one day. But he certainly doesn't know when that day will be.

From Jon Paul Morosi who asked Beltran about his thoughts on the New York Metropolitans (via):

“You have to be a little frustrated for the fans, knowing probably the
team isn’t going to be what the fans really want to see out there. But
at the end of the day, they have prospects, players who are going to be
good one day. But when that day’s going to be, only God knows.”

And God's not telling.

*No, no you don't.
