Peace Out Wilson Valdez

The Phillies lost one of their reliable late inning pitching options on Wednesday afternoon as Mr. Infield, Wilson Valdez, was traded to the Cincinnati Reds for 26-year-old left-hander Jeremy Horst who had a 2.93 ERA in 12 games last season.

Valdez was an incredibly likable guy in the locker room and his versatility served the Phillies quite well over the years. He filled in admirably when Jimmy Rollins, Placido Polanco, and even Chase Utley went down with injury.

He'll always have that one 'W' next to his name in the annals of Philadelphia Phillies history.
