The March 17th game down in Clearwater, Florida is typically a rather festive affair with fans from the Delaware Valley flocking to BrightHouse Field to wear their best wrong-colored Phillies shirts and celebrate the fact that someone in their family tree once lived across the ocean in Ireland.

I was down there one year and wrote somewhat negatively on my feelings about green Phillies gear -- sorry, I like my Phillies gear to be red -- but whatever, I'm down for any reason to enjoy a few cold ones and watch baseball.

So boo to the weather gods who forced today's game to be canceled -- the party seemingly along with it.

This bagpipe guy just looks sad, serenading some peanuts and Cracker Jacks.

Cliff Lee was officially named the opening day starter today. That and a few Jamesons at the Tilted Kilt down there should help cheer up the crowd.
