Rejoice, city of Philadelphia! For Chase Utley will wear a Phillies uniform beyond the 2013 season.

Both CSNPhilly.com Phillies beat writer Jim Salisbury and MLB.com Phillies beat writer Todd Zolecki have sources saying Utley and the team have agreed to a contract extension.

No word on the details yet but you'll have a few more seasons to admire that slicked back hair.

UPDATE: Ken Rosenthal adds that it will likely be a two-year guarantee with multiple vesting options.

The Phillies are close to signing Utley to a two-year extension with multiple vesting options, according to major-league sources. The total guaranteed money in the deal will be in the “high 20s,” one source said — between $25 million and $30 million.
