The Phils try to put the ugly 14-5 beating they took at the hands of the Marlins last night behind them and they'll get right back at it today with a 12:40 start time. Larry Andersen may be a little groggy for this one.

Ruben Amaro Jr. spoke with reporters yesterday about the severity of Cliff Lee's elbow strain, pointing out it's something they simply aren't able to put a timetable on. It could be two weeks or "30 weeks." The latter scenario would really make the rest of 2014 rough for Phillies fans.

Amaro was also asked whether Lee's status will impact the team's trade plans. From ESPN's Jayson Stark:

"I don't have any idea yet about that," the GM said. "Frankly, we really don't know what we have. ... There's a lot of parity and a lot of mediocrity out there -- including us. We're playing like a mediocre club. We're playing like a .500 ballclub."

Except they're under .500 ball club.

But it is interesting to hear Amaro admit that his ballclub is mediocre right now. Even if that may be giving them a bit of credit.

As for today's contest it's Cole Hamels on the hill with Wil Nieves as his battery mate and Ben Revere in center. Revere is back after some time off but he's not at the top of the order. Sandberg has finally placed him where Phillies fans would like to see him* in the eight hole.

12:40 start time from Miami before they head home for some weekend ball at the Bank.

*on the bench not an option
