Ryan Howard Sits with Sore Groin vs. Jaime Garcia, Cardinals

Share

Ryan Howard has been given the night off with what's being reported as either a tight or sore groin. This after the multiple conversations about his mobility that have taken place this week.

It's just as well, because no one on this team, but especially Piece, has a good history against Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia.

Current Phillies are just .191 vs. Garcia. Howard, Jimmy and Chase Utley are a combined 6 for 43 (.140).

Kevin Frandesen is filling in for Howard at first and Humberto Quintero is once again catching Roy Halladay. Freddy Galvis is back in left.

Will the Phillies draw a walk tonight?

And will they get the game in? Severe thunderstorms are expected to roll in right around the time the game would be expected to end. Either way, it's supposed to get windy down at the ballpark.
