Tens of Phillies fans took to Twitter on Monday night to have some fun with former Liscio's Bakery spokesman and general hungry dude Hunter Pence. The idea was spawned by Friend of the Level and interviewer of The Iron Sheik, FanSince09. He's evil.

FanSince09's idea was a simple one:

Ok, 1130pm we all start tweeting Hunter Pence to congratulate him on the trade to Boston.

Wait for my signal, then unleash hell.

.@hunterpence Can't believe you were traded to Boston! Shane and Hunter together again!

— FanSince09 (@FanSince09) July 31, 2013

The use of pointless hashtags was an #important part of the execution:

.@hunterpence Welcome to Red Sox Nation! #Chowdah

The Red Sox put together an impressive #package together for @hunterpence. Have fun at #PeskyPole!

And the rest of the crowd joined in on the fun:

Congrats to @hunterpence on being traded to the Red Sox! #bahsten

Hunter seemed to take it like a pro:

Pretty good try everyone...kinda cruel, but well played.

First Jake Peavy and now @HunterPence? Red Sox arent messing around...

A big shoutout to the SBNation folks for rounding up all of the above tweets. Go look at this GIF of Chad Qualls failing miserably at a routine fist pump to make up for our straight swiping.

As for the Red Sox, Beerleaguer seems to think the Phils made the right move in holding on to Cliff Lee if Boston wasn't willing to part with Xander Bogaerts.

What's for lunch?
