I'm not going to lie. My hopes of a playoff berth are about as malleable as Playdough these days. Ryan Howard hits a big ninth inning home run and I'm amped! The St. Louis Cardinals win a day game this afternoon prior to Tyler Cloyd and the Phillies taking on the New York Mets later in the evening and I'm planning a trip to Munich for Oktoberfest come October 1st.

Cloyd (1-1, 4.95) will take on Mets right-hander Jeremy Hefner (2-6, 4.99) in the final game of the slightly elongated series. With just about two weeks left and a 4.5 game deficit with multiple teams between them and the final wild card spot, the Phillies are pretty much reaching must-win territory.

Jim Salisbury added his thoughts on the Phillies diminishing playoff chances on DNL prior to tonight's game.

"In the end, I think they're going to run out of time and we're going to have our first baseball-free October in Philadelphia in a long time," Salisbury said.

But they've still got 13 left to play this September*.

7:10 start from Flushing. *Yes, the play the final games of the regular season in October.

Tonight's lineup @ NYM: Rollins SS, Pierre LF, Utley 2B, Howard 1B, Mayberry CF, Brown RF, Frandsen 3B, Kratz C, Cloyd P.
