The Sixers were playing for pride when they hosted the Bucks Monday night.

Milwaukee has the sixth seed locked up in the Eastern Confernce, but it opted not to rest its regulars.

Behind a superb performance from former Sixer Michael Carter-Williams in his first game back in Philadelphia, the Bucks beat the Sixers, 107-97.

The loss was the Sixers' ninth in a row, as their record fell to 18-63.

The Bucks improved to 41-40 on the season.

Nerlens Noel, Jason Richardson, Luc Mbah a Moute and Isaiah Canaan were all sidelined with various injuries.

Turning point
The Sixers held a lead for most of the way until MCW got going in the third quarter. He had a steal, three field goals and a free throw in the final 1:09 of the period to give the Bucks a two-point lead entering the fourth.

Follow the leader
MCW made sure his initial return to the Wells Fargo Center was a memorable one.

Carter-Williams was 11 for 17 from the floor. He also made 8 of his 13 free throw attempts. He added five rebounds, five assists, three steals and only two turnovers.

Robert Covington led the Sixers in scoring with 25. However, 18 of those points came in the first half. Hollis Thompson scored 19 points, but 15 of his came in the first half, as well.

Stat-egic
The Bucks' second-half defense was light years better than their D in the first half.

In the first half, the Sixers shot 56.4 percent and scored 58 points. Milwaukee allowed the Sixers just 20 third-quarter points on 23.5 percent shooting. They also forced the Sixers into 10 turnovers.

For the game, the Sixers had a season-high 30 turnovers which led to 47 Bucks points.

Take a bow
Milwaukee's O.J. Mayo came off the Bucks' bench to score 13 points, with nine coming in the final quarter.

What's next?
The Sixers close out the 2014-15 season against the Miami Heat. The Heat could have been eliminated from the playoffs Monday with a loss to Orlando or a Brooklyn win over Chicago. Instead, the Heat recorded a 100-93 win over the Magic and the Bulls crushed the Nets, 113-86.

The Sixers have lost two out of three meetings this season with the Heat.
