BOX SCORE

MIAMI — The Sixers were at a disadvantage in talent and healthy bodies on Tuesday in Miami.

None of it mattered to them.

The Sixers came back from down 23 points to pull off a 91-87 win over the Heat for their first back-to-back victories of the season.

The Sixers are now 2-0 to open their seven-game road trip.

Turning point
The Sixers trailed by as many as 23 points in the third quarter before storming back to cut the deficit to just five heading into the fourth.

They stayed on the attack in the final period when Jerami Grant's and-one layup with 5:55 to play gave the Sixers the lead at 84-82. Grant converted the free throw to cap off the furious rally, which marked the team’s first lead since 2-0.

Follow the leader
Michael Carter-Williams had an outstanding game. He finished with 20 points, three rebounds, five assists, six steals and one blocked shot.

Luc Mbah a Moute had 19 points and six rebounds while also playing stellar defense on Dwyane Wade (9 for 21 shooting).

K.J. McDaniels (13 points), Robert Covington (11 points) and Grant (11 points) also scored in double figures for the Sixers.

Wade led Miami with 23 points. He also had six assists and five rebounds.

Shawne Williams added 17 points and five boards for Miami.

Stat-egic
As it did in Orlando, the Sixers' offense came to life in the second half. The Sixers scored 31 points in the third quarter to get the comeback in motion.

However, their defense was even more impressive after halftime. They held the Heat to just 30 second-half points, including just nine in the fourth quarter.

Take a bow
There is no mistaking the fact that McDaniels is fun to watch. Even opposing fans are wowed by his athleticism when he gets above the rim, which he did on a couple occasions against the Heat.

McDaniels had three highlight-reel dunks off the bench to help keep the energy up when the Sixers appeared down for good.

What's next?
The Sixers head to Portland on Christmas to start the western portion of their Disney On Ice road trip, which starts on Dec. 26 against the Trail Blazers.

The Blazers entered Tuesday tied for the second-best record in the NBA at 22-7. One of those wins came over the Sixers, 114-104, back on Nov. 24 at the Wells Fargo Center. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 33 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in that game.

Tony Wroten, Henry Sims and Carter-Williams each scored 20 or more points that night. The Sixers, who average 19 turnovers a game, had just 10 against the Trail Blazers in the loss.
