BOX SCORE

WASHINGTON -- The Sixers were dominated in every aspect of a 106-93 loss to the Wizards on Wednesday to open up a three-game road trip. The game wasn't nearly as close as the final score indicated.

The Sixers have lost twice to Washington on the road this season by a combined 48 points.

It was a rare night during which the Sixers' defense was non-existent. Washington shot 57.9 percent from the field.

Turning point
Washington started the game by outscoring the Sixers, 13-4. The Sixers were down 10 points after the first quarter, trailed by 23 points at the half and had a 31-point deficit entering the fourth quarter.

Follow the leader
Marcin Gortat recorded a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds. John Wall also had a double-double with 13 points and 15 assists. Wall did commit six turnovers.

One game after Nerlens Noel said Ish Smith was the first true point guard he had ever played with, Smith went out and did his best imitation of a scoring point guard. Smith finished with 23 points and had just three assists.

Noel had 14 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks.

Stat-egic
The Sixers allowed 65 first-half points in the loss. It was the fourth-most points they have given up in any first half this season.

Washington shot 69.0 percent from the field in the half. The Wizards were 2 for 4 from behind the arc, while the Sixers were 3 of 17.

Take a bow
Isaiah Canaan and Hollis Thompson came off the bench and contributed 34 points. Together they were 8 for 16 from three-point range. The rest of the team was 2 of 17 from behind the arc.

Canaan left the game midway through the fourth quarter with a right ankle sprain and did not return.

What's next?
The Sixers play their final set of back-to-back games on Saturday in Charlotte and Easter Sunday against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

The Sixers have six games remaining and 18 wins, one shy of last season's total.
