Ahead of the Las Vegas summer league, the Big 5 and the Philadelphia area will be well-represented at the Sixers' minicamp this week.

The Big 5 is represented by former La Salle guard Tyreek Duren and former Temple forward Rahlir Hollis Jefferson, who will be vying for spots on the Sixers' summer-league roster.

Duren finished his four-year Explorers career with 1,726 career points and exactly 500 assists. During his junior season, he was an integral part of La Salle's 2013 Sweet 16 run before they were ultimately stopped by Wichita State.

Hollis-Jefferson graduated from Temple in 2013 and averaged 15.2 points per game for AB Contern in Luxembourg last season. The Chester native made it to the NCAA tournament in each of his four years as an Owl, finishing his career just shy of 1,000 points.

The local flare continues just outside the city limits with former Penn State guard Tim Frazier as well as former Delaware teammates Jamelle Hagins and Devon Saddler receiving minicamp invites.

Brandon Davies and Adonis Thomas are the only two invitees of the 14 who are not rookies. Both saw time with the Sixers last season.

Jordan McRae is the only player invited whom the Sixers acquired in last month’s NBA draft. The Tennessee product was selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the third to last pick (58th overall) on draft night. He was then traded along with the 60th overall pick to the Sixers for the rights to Nemanja Dangubic, who was the 54th overall pick.

Jerami Grant, Arsalan Kazemi, K.J. McDaniels and Nerlens Noel are expected to play for the Sixers in Las Vegas.

Minicamp will run through Thursday this week. The Las Vegas summer league will begin on Friday and run until July 21 on the campus of UNLV, at the COX Pavilion and Thomas and Mack Center.

The Sixers will open up play on Saturday, July 12 against Utah at 4:30 p.m. They will then take on Cleveland at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 14 and Phoenix at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15. More games will be announced later as each team will play between five and seven games.
