According to multiple reports, the Sixers have signed forward Jakarr Sampson to a contract.

The New York Daily News reports that the deal is a partially-guaranteed, three-year contract.

“Jakarr has a real shot at making their final roster,” Sampson's agent, Seth Cohen, told the New York Daily News via text message based on conversations with Sixers general manager/president Sam Hinkie.

“He is a wonderful kid and deserves all the success in the world. We believe strongly in JaKarr and his potential to have a long career in the NBA.”

Sampson's head coach at St. John's, Steve Lavin, also tweeted about the signing.

“Congrats to @karrsampson14 on word he is signing deal with #Sixers. ... Proud of a Johnny on the rise! Bright future.”

Sampson played for the Sixers during the Orlando Pro Summer League. The 21-year-old averaged 8.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in 19.4 minutes a game. He shot 50 percent from the floor over the course of five games.

Sampson played two seasons for the Red Storm, averaging 13.9 points and 6.4 rebounds while making 46.9 percent of his shots. The Cleveland native was named Big East Rookie of the Year after the 2012-13 season.

The Sixers open training camp at Richard Stockton College on Sept. 30.
