Sixers' Aldemir has plantar fasciitis, doubtful Friday

Furkan Aldemir did not practice Thursday because of plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

"It is not as bad as it sounds," coach Brett Brown said. "He came over here and all the physicals and MRIs did not reveal anything. He got off the plane, played in a game, had a hard practice.

"This is more precautionary than it is something we think will linger. I could be wrong, but at this stage that is how it has been explained to me."

Aldemir played 10 minutes Monday night against the Celtics. He was 1 for 3 from the floor for two points, and he grabbed two rebounds.

The team has Aldemir listed as doubtful for Friday night's home game against Charlotte.

The Sixers are winless at the Wells Fargo Center. They are hopeful their 13th try for a victory in front of a home crowd is the charm.

Brown believes his players are feeling pressure to win whether they are home or away because they have just two wins on the season.

"It is probably exacerbated a little bit at home because you want to do the right thing by the crowd. The crowd has certainly done the right thing by us," Brown said. "Times like the Memphis game or the lackluster performance against Boston. Sometimes in a timeout I will point up to the crowd and say let's give them something. There is always extra incentive to perform well in our city."

Michael Carter-Williams disagrees with his coach. He felt pressure as the losses mounted at the start of the season.

"Now that we have two wins, the weight is off our backs," he said. "We are just going out there playing as hard as we can, but a win at home would be nice."
