MILWAUKEE — The Sixers pushed themselves over the salary floor with their latest move.

According to a league source (UPDATE, 6:38 p.m.: The move is official), the Sixers claimed power forward Thomas Robinson off waivers from Denver just before Tuesday's 5 p.m. deadline. In making the claim, the Sixers are over the salary floor, which they failed to reach last season. Prior to the deal the team was $3,034,872 under the salary floor, according to reports.

The Sixers owe Robinson the remainder of his $3,678,360 salary. Robinson is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

In order to clear a spot for Robinson on the roster, the Sixers waived Tim Frazier, according to a league source. Frazier was playing on a second 10-day contract with the Sixers before being waived. The Penn State alum averaged 7.2 assists in six games with the Sixers.

Robinson, 23, is in his third season in the NBA. He was selected with the No. 5 overall pick in 2012 by Sacramento and traded to the Rockets at the 2013 trade deadline. Robinson was traded by the Rockets to Portland last July and then dealt again from Portland to Denver at last week’s trade deadline.

Denver waived Robinson on Sunday.

According to reports, Robinson had an agreement in place with Brooklyn should he become a free agent. With the waiver claim, the deal could only be revisited if the Sixers part ways with Robinson.

Robinson appeared in 32 games for the Trail Blazers this season, averaging 12.2 minutes, 3.6 points and 4.2 rebounds.
