Joel Embiid on Sunday took a break from being a Twitter superstar to serve as the honorary captain for the Union, who beat the Earthquakes, 4-2, at PPL Park (see story).
Speaking with Marc Zumoff, Embiid discussed the recent acquisition of Luc Mbah a Moute, who the Sixers acquired Saturday as part of the Kevin Love trade that sent Thad Young to Minnesota and Love to Cleveland (see story).
"First of all, we're very close," Embiid said, "because he's the one who gave me the chance to come to the USA to be where I am right now.
"Him on the Sixers is a great addition. I think it's going to help me and it's going to help the other guys, too, because he's been in the league for a long time now. We just have to follow him now. I think it's great for me."
