PORTLAND, Ore. -- On the final possession of the Sixers' 101-99 win over the Portland Trail Blazers (see story), Michael Carter-Williams took an elbow to his head.

Carter-Williams laid on the ground, face down, for quite some time even though time had expired and the Sixers had won their fourth consecutive game.

Eventually MCW made his way to the Sixers' locker room and underwent a series of concussion tests before he sat at his locker getting ready for the cross-country flight home that was on tap.

“I just got an elbow to the head but I’ll be alright,” Carter-Williams said.

He scored 16 points, had nine rebounds and handed out four assists, helping his team improve to 12-22 on the season.

“I think we really came together. We have been playing as a team and we have had people have big nights,” MCW said not just of Saturday’s win but of the Sixers going 4-1 on their West Coast swing.

“Thaddeus was consistent the whole time,” MCW continued. “He was great, Evan also and Spencer stepped up at times so this was definitely a team win tonight. Tony Wroten came off the bench and gave us energy defensively and scoring so definitely a team effort."

Over his last seven games, Young is averaging 26 points and has posted three 30-point efforts.
