Spencer Hawes will not be in the Sixers' lineup for Wednesday night's game against the Orlando Magic because of left knee soreness.

Hawes, who will miss his second consecutive game, gave reason to believe that he would return against Orlando when he spoke after the Sixers' shootaround Wednesday afternoon.

“I am going to try it out,” Hawes said. “This is the best [my knee] has felt, so we are seeing how it feels rotating when putting a lot of pressure on it. We shall see. We will put a little more pressure on it in game situation and see how it responds.”

In 14 games this season, Hawes has averaged 16.8 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists.

The Sixers, however, will receive a boost to their lineup with Thaddeus Young returning after a three-game absence (see story).

Young has started all 12 games he's appeared in this season and is averaging 14.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
