BOX SCORE

The Sixers have never led in the fourth quarter during their losing skid. A poor start to the third quarter made sure that wouldn’t change on Wednesday night in the Sixers’ 115-98 loss to the Kings at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Sixers extended their overall losing streak to 18 games, as their record dropped to 15-49.

Turning point
The Sixers trailed by four at halftime before being outscored 32-22 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. They made just six field goals in the third quarter to equal their number of turnovers in the frame.

The Sixers shot 25 percent from the field in the third quarter and watched their deficit balloon to double digits.

Follow the leader
Rudy Gay is a prolific scorer. His points don’t always come in the most efficient way, but the swingman makes sure to make his mark on the stat sheet.

Gay was 5 of 12 from the field against the Sixers. However, he converted on 16 of 19 free throws to finish with 27 points in the game.

Isaiah Thomas scored 20 points and was 11 for 12 at the foul line. He also had six assists and five rebounds. DeMarcus Cousins had 19 points and 12 rebounds.

For the Sixers, James Anderson scored 17 points. He made 5 of 9 shots from three-point range.

Thaddeus Young scored 16 points for the Sixers but was 5 for 18 from the floor.

Stat-egic
There was a great disparity at the foul line between the two teams on Wednesday. The Kings made 40 of 50 free-throw attempts, while the Sixers connected on 24 of 28 at the line.

Take a bow
Henry Sims scored in double figures for a second consecutive game. He led the Sixers in scoring at halftime with 14 points before finishing the night with 20 to go along with 10 rebounds.

Those numbers gave Sims the first double-double of his NBA career.

What’s next?
The Sixers’ matchup on Friday night should be an interesting one.

They host the Indiana Pacers, which means Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen will return to Philadelphia for the first time since being traded on Feb. 20.

They aren’t the only former Sixers that will arrive with the Pacers. Andrew Bynum scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds in his Pacers debut on Tuesday night and should see action against the Sixers.
