BOX SCORE

After all the dust had settled from an active trade deadline, Sixers head coach Brett Brown had eight players available to him for Friday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.

There might have been new faces, but it turned out to be a familiar result for the Sixers as they suffered a 124-112 loss to the Mavs. It was the team's 10th straight loss.

The Sixers’ starting lineup consisted of Michael Carter-Williams and Elliott Williams in the backcourt. James Anderson and Thaddeus Young got the staring nod in the frontcourt, along with Arnett Moultrie, who made the first start of his NBA career.

Turning point
The Sixers cut what was once a 22-point lead to four points in the third quarter when Moultrie put in a layup to make the score 77-73.

The Mavericks proceeded to go on a 9-0 run and had a 101-89 lead at the end of the quarter.

Follow the leader
Dirk Nowitzki had 25 points in 27 minutes on 9 of 12 shooting, including 5 of 7 from three-point range. Shawn Marion was 11 of 12 from the floor for 22 points. Both players had seven rebounds.

Young knew the Sixers would need more from him on the offensive end with the departures of Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes. He obliged by scoring 30 points on a career-high 29 shots. He also added career-bests 13 rebounds and six assists with seven steals.

Michael Carter-Williams scored 25 points, handed out six assists and grabbed five rebounds.

Stat-egic
The Sixers allowed the Mavericks to shoot 62.3 percent, a new season worst and the third time this season an opponent reached the 60-percent mark.

Back on Nov. 16, the Sixers allowed the Pelicans to shoot 60.5 percent. They also let the Nets hit 60.3 percent from the field in a Dec. 16 loss.

Take a bow
Tony Wroten led the reserves with 21 points. Wroten’s aggressive play was rewarded with 13 attempts from the free throw line of which he made nine.

What’s next?
The Sixers continue their homestand Monday night against the lone team in the NBA with fewer wins than them, the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Sixers and Bucks have split their two earlier meetings this season. The Sixers claimed a 115-107 overtime win at home on Nov. 22 before suffering a 116-106 loss in Milwaukee on Dec. 21.
