WASHINGTON -- The Sixers and Wizards split the first two games of their season series with the home team winning each contest.

The Sixers took the rubber match on Friday night with a 97-86 victory on the road.

The Sixers trailed by as many as 13 points in the first half before rallying for the win.

Turning point
The Sixers seized control of the game in the third quarter when they outscored the Wizards, 26-16. They held the Wizards to 30 percent shooting in the third and forced them into six turnovers.

Follow the leader
Jrue Holiday scored 22 points. Spencer Hawes had 15 points, while Thaddeus Young was 8 of 9 from the floor for 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

John Wall led Washington with 24 points. However, he shot just 9 of 21 from the floor. Wall scored 15 of his points in the first half.

Nene scored nine points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Wizards.

Stat-egic
Evan Turner was 0 for 11 from the floor and did not score in the game. It was the second time this season Turner failed to make a single field goal and the first time he was held scoreless.

Turner did grab four rebounds and hand out seven assists.

Take a bow
Arnett Moultrie played 17 minutes against the Wizards. The rookie big man scored seven points and grabbed five rebounds.

What’s next?
The Sixers will play their final home game of the season at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday against the Cavaliers.

The Sixers have taken two of their three meetings with the Cavs this season.

The Sixers will also honor the 1982-83 championship team at the game that day.
