Michael Carter-Williams was named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for January. It is the second time this season he has won the award after receiving the honor for October/November.

Allen Iverson and Carter-Williams are the only Sixers rookies to earn the award multiple times. Iverson earned it twice in the 1996-97 season.

Carter-Williams appeared in 17 games in the month of January, averaging 16.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists.

On Jan. 7 he scored 33 points at Cleveland, becoming the first Sixers rookie since Iverson to score 30 or more points in a game.

Carter-Williams continues to lead all rookies in scoring (17.3), rebounding (5.4), assists (6.6) and steals (2.3).

The last time an NBA player averaged at least 17 points, five rebounds, six assists and two steals in a season was when Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade posted those numbers in the 2008-09 season. Paul was in his fourth NBA season and Wade was in his sixth.
