NBA Notes: Gallinari has another ACL surgery

DENVER -- Danilo Gallinari has undergone another operation to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the season, the Denver Nuggets said.

It's a major setback for the shooting forward and the Nuggets, who had hoped to have him back in the lineup later this season.

Gallinari hasn't played since blowing out his knee in a game against Dallas last April 4.

General manager Tim Connelly said in a statement "it was recently determined that the procedure that Danilo underwent on his knee this past summer was insufficient."

Connelly said Gallinari underwent a second surgery Tuesday morning.

He said Gallinari is expected to return to the team next season (see full story).

Heat: Wade sits out again
MIAMI -- Dwyane Wade has been ruled out for Miami's game against the Boston Celtics, the third straight contest the All-Star guard has missed with knee issues.

It's the 12th time the Heat have held Wade out of a game already this season. The Heat are 24-6 when Wade plays and entered Tuesday 5-6 when he's out of the lineup.

Wade had an offseason shock wave treatment to relieve ongoing knee trouble, and typically it takes at least six months before recovering fully. This is the first time he's missed three consecutive games since late in the 2012-13 regular season.

Coach Erik Spoelstra said being back at home should help Wade get back into his usual workout routine. The Heat played six straight on the road before Tuesday (see full story).
