NBA Notes: LeBron James has broken nose

MIAMI -- LeBron James has a broken nose, and his availability for the Miami Heat on Sunday against Chicago will be a game-time decision.

The Heat announced the diagnosis after James' injury was evaluated Friday. He missed the final 5:50 of Thursday's game at Oklahoma City when he was struck inadvertently by defender Serge Ibaka on a drive to the basket.

James finished with a dunk but then crumpled to the floor, blood gushing from his nose. He left the court with a towel over his face.

He passed a concussion test but didn't talk to reporters after the Heat's victory, instead sitting in front of his locker with a towel draped over his head. The team was off Friday.

James has missed one game this season (see full story).

Magic: Glen Davis bought out
ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Magic are parting ways with forward Glen Davis.

General Manager Rob Hennigan announced Friday that the team had agreed on a buyout for the remainder of Davis' contract.

Davis has started 43 of the 45 games he's appeared in this season. Terms of the buyout weren't revealed, but Davis' salary is just over $6 million for this season and about $6.6 million next season.

The move ends Davis' tenure with the Magic, which began in 2011-12.

Davis averaged career-highs in points and rebounds before being sidelined with injuries last season.

He was averaging 12.1 points and 6.3 rebounds this season, but clearly didn't fit into the Magic's long-term rebuilding efforts. With Davis gone, his minutes will now likely shift to forwards Tobias Harris, Andrew Nicholson and Kyle O'Quinn (see full story).

Wizards: Miller sorry about Shaw spat
WASHINGTON -- Andre Miller says he lost his cool when he and Denver Nuggets coach Brian Shaw got into a shouting match.

Miller spoke Friday after his first practice with the Washington Wizards.

Miller was traded on Thursday from Denver to Washington. He hasn't played since his confrontation with Shaw late during a game on New Year's Day.

Says Miller: "It was just an instance where I kind of lost my cool and was a little bit unprofessional and stepped out of character. And I apologized to my teammates for what happened. That's not me. That's not what I'm about."

Miller said he was tired after his first practice, but hopes to play when the Wizards host the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday (see full story).
