Knicks win fifth straight
The New York Knicks beat the Boston Celtics, 100-85, to earn their fifth straight victory.
J.R. Smith led the way with 32 points, while Carmelo Anthony added 29.
Jeff Green, taking Kevin Garnett's place in the starting lineup, scored 19 points for the Celtics. Garnett missed his second straight game with an ankle injury.
The Celtics couldn't overcome their 20 turnovers, while the Knicks had just eight.
With the victory, the Knicks moved into second place behind only the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference. (See full recap.)
T'wolves rout Pistons
The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Detroit Pistons, 105-82, on Tuesday night.
The Timberwolves were led by four players who notched double-digit points. J.J. Barea scored a game-high 21 points, while Nikola Pekovic recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Luke Ridnour also added 15, while Ricky Rubio notched 14 points and nine aassists.
The Pistons, in comparison, had just two players reach double-digit points. Greg Monroe had 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Jose Calderon scored 14. (See full recap.)
