Report: Sixers' Brown exercises player option

Kwame Brown is reportedly returning to the Sixers next season.

According to the USA Today, Brown has exercised the player option on the final year of his contract, which is worth $2.9 million.

It's not surprising news considering Brown likely wouldn't have earned more than the veteran's minimum playing for any other team.

Brown failed to log minutes in the Sixers' final 30 games last season. The big man played in 22 contests, 11 of which he started, and finished the season with averages of 1.9 points per game and 3.4 rebounds.

Brown was the No. 1 pick by the Washington Wizards in the 2001 NBA draft.
