The Sixers on Sunday assigned guard Elliot Williams to the Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League.
Williams, 24, appeared in 18 games for the Sixers this season, averaging 2.8 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.
In his only start with the Sixers, Williams played 27 minutes in a 115-101 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Dec. 28. He grabbed two rebounds and had a steal, but did not register a point in the game.
Williams was drafted 22nd overall in the 2010 NBA draft by the Trail Blazers and played in 24 games for Portland in the 2011-12 season.
He missed the entire 2012-13 season because of an Achilles injury and briefly spent time with the Cleveland Cavaliers during training camp before being waived on Oct. 25.
Williams and guard Lorenzo Brown signed as free agents with the Sixers on Nov. 20, the same day Kwame Brown and Darius Morris were cut.
Brown, 23, was called up by the Sixers on Nov. 20 and appeared in 13 games this season. He was assigned to the 87ers on Dec. 26.
