By the sound of it, the Sixers might be ready to sign center Dewayne Dedmon for the rest of the season.
With his second 10-day contract set to expire on Saturday, the Sixers will have to sign Dedmon for the remainder of the season if they plan on keeping him around past Saturday.
Based on coach Brett Brown’s comments prior to Friday’s game with the Atlanta Hawks, the Sixers want to keep Dedmon around.
“I love him,” Brown said. “I think he’s been great. You take a 23-year-old who didn’t start playing basketball until he was 18 and have him be 7-foot and run the way he runs, how could you not love that energy? I’m thrilled with what he’s done.”
In 10 games entering Friday, Dedmon has 28 points and 39 rebounds and averaged 12.9 minutes per game.
