News that a league source confirmed with CSNPhilly.com Sixers insider Dei Lynam late Monday night (see story) became official on Tuesday: The Sixers have signed center Dewayne Dedmon to a 10-day contract.
Dedmon, a 7-foot, 255-pound center, was averaging 15.2 points and a league-high 13.5 rebounds in 15 games this season for Golden State's NBDL affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors.
The 24-year-old rookie began his NBDL season with 10 straight double-doubles, including a game in which he pulled down 21 rebounds and another in which he posted 27 points and 19 boards.
Dedmon played two seasons at USC before going undrafted this summer after declaring following his junior season with the Trojans. He then played for the Heat in the NBA Orlando summer league and for the Mavericks in the Las Vegas summer league before joining Golden State for training camp and preseason.
Dedmon appeared in four games with the Warriors this season before being assigned to the team's NBDL affiliate.
The big man will wear No. 30 for the Sixers.
