On Monday, third-year Sixer Jrue Holiday was named to the USA Mens Select Team by USA Basketball.

In naming Jrue to our Select Team, weve added an athletic guard who can get to the rim and someone who is also a good 3-point shooter, said Jerry Colangelo, USA Basketball chairman. Both those skills will be invaluable in helping prepare our National Team for this summer.

The Select Teams purpose is to help prepare the USA Basketball Mens National Team for the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Holiday and the Select Team will train against the National Team from July 6-11 in Las Vegas.

Notable players on the USA Select squad include DeMarcus Cousins, Paul George, Kyrie Irving and John Wall. Holiday was the 15th player named to the roster.

The former 17th overall pick started all 65 games for the Sixers in 2011-12, averaging 13.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists.
