The 76ers are giving former Penn standout Zack Rosen a chance to prove he belongs in the NBA. Rosen will play on the Sixers' summer league team in Orlando later this month.

"It's a great opportunity and I'm thankful for it," Rosen told CSNPhilly.com via text message. "I'm gonna go down there and compete my butt off."

The news was first reported by The Daily Pennsylvanian, via Twitter.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound point guard participated in a pre-draft workout for the Sixers in late May and wasn't selected in Thursday night's NBA draft.

Rosen leaves Penn as the programs all-time leader in assists (588), games started (115) and minutes played (4,198). He ranks third in career points (1,723), behind only Ernie Beck and Ugonna Onyekwe, and was named the Ivy League and Big 5 Player of the Year after averaging 18.2 points and 5.2 points per game last season.

The Orlando Pro Summer League runs from July 9-13 and consists of 20 games. In addition to the Sixers, the Orlando Magic, Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics, Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons also will be sending teams.
