A league source has informed CSNPhilly.com's Dei Lynam that the Sixers have been awarded James Anderson and Tim Ohlbrecht -- who were released by the Houston Rockets -- off waivers.

Anderson is a 6-foot-6, 215-pound shooting guard who will be entering his fourth NBA season in 2013-14. The 24-year-old was drafted 20th overall by the Spurs in the 2010 draft. He then bounced back and forth between San Antonio and the NBDL before signing with the Rockets this past season. In 29 games with Houston, Anderson averaged 10.6 minutes per game, four points and two rebounds.

In college, Anderson was a prolific scorer at Oklahoma State. Anderson scored 22.3 points per game -- sixth-best in the country -- in his final year as a junior and compiled 158 three-pointers in his last two seasons.

Ohlbrecht is a 6-foot-11, 255-pound center. As a rookie last season, Ohlbrecht played in just three games, scored three points and grabbed one rebound. The 24-year-old is a native of Germany and played professionally in his homeland. He went undrafted and played 32 games in the NBDL last season, averaging 13.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.
