New Sixers head coach Brett Brown made his first assistant coach hire last Sunday. Six days later, it appears Brown has made his second.

A league source confirmed to's John Finger on Saturday a report from Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski that the Sixers have hired Chad Iske as an assistant coach, who joins Lloyd Pierce on Brown's coaching staff.

Iske has been part of the Denver Nuggets' organization for the last 13 seasons, serving the last five years as an assistant coach under George Karl. In Denver, Iske built a reputation in player development, which is something the Sixers will need throughout the rebuild process.

The 36-year-old never played in the NBA or college. Iske began as a volunteer coach at the high school and junior high school levels and worked his way up to an assistant coaching position with the Nuggets. He was promoted to an assistant position by Karl in 2008.

Iske graduated from the University of Kansas with a sports management degree.
