The Sixers are finalizing a deal with free-agent point guard Darius Morris, a league source confirmed to CSNPhilly.com's John Finger.
The signing was first reported by Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
The two-year veteran averaged 4.0 points and 1.6 assists last year with the Los Angeles Lakers. He is supposed to sign a partially guaranteed contract for the upcoming season.
Morris expects a bigger role with the Sixers than he had with the Lakers, which was one of the reasons he was supposedly attracted to Philly. The 22-year-old averaged just 14 minutes on the floor last year and nine minutes per game as a rookie in 2011-12.
The Lakers took the 6-foot-4 Morris out of the University of Michigan in the second round (41st overall) in the 2011 draft.
