If the Sixers are going to snap their epically long losing skid, they are going to have to do it without Tony Wroten.
The 20-year-old guard suffered a sprained ankle in the fourth quarter of the Sixers’ 93-92 loss to the Knicks Friday night at the Wells Fargo Center (see Instant Replay). Coach Brett Brown said after the game Wroten would not join the team on its trip to Chicago.
After the game, Wroten hobbled around the locker room with a pair of crutches. He underwent X-rays, though the tests were negative. He will likely miss the games in San Antonio and Houston next week as well.
“It was a big sprain,” Wroten said. “Just got to take it one day at a time really. It’s a high ankle sprain, it’s tough to put weight on it.”
Wroten scored 12 points and had four assists in the loss.
