Nerlens Noel said he will most definitely be playing in the Orlando Summer League next month.
That's exciting news for Sixers fans who are itching to see the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft put on a Sixers uniform for the first time. He told his plans to Michael Barkann and Dei Lynam on Philly Sports Talk on Tuesday evening.
Other topics of interest included the countless hours he and Brett Brown have put in working on his shot.
"Coach Brown has worked with me nonstop, from before games, after shootaround, countless hours. I definitely feel I've come a long way. Still a work in progress and I think if I can continue to develop my shot and improve it, I think that can take my game and help me utilize my quickness and athletic ability."
And to show he has a sense of humor, Noel even joked that the infamous 4-4-14 tweet was in regard to when Captain-something-or-other came out, before admitting that was a date he targeted for a return to the court in Boston. That obviously never happened.
As for MCW's status after offseason labrum surgery, Noel said his teammate is doing great.
"We talked the other day. He said he's doing great. He's making good progress slowly but surely. I know he's going to come back looking even better. He's going to have a lot of off time like I did to work on things that may have been a weakness at first. I know he's going to come back ready for the season when the time comes."
