Sixers Basketball Is Back in South Philly Tonight as Celtics Come to Town

Doug Collins and the Sixers bring their new brand of ball to South Philadelphia for the first time this season as they take on the Boston Celtics in preseason action. It's a rematch of their exciting playoff series last summer in which the C's bested the 76ers in seven games.

Tonight, I believe, will also be the first game the Sixers play this preseason that you'll be able to watch on the old television set. 7:00 start on Comcast SportsNet.

These two teams have obviously changed quite a bit from the end of last season, but they're still likely to be among the best in the East this go around. Doc Rivers doesn't seem real thrilled that the rest of the division is seemingly catching up to them.

“I think everybody improved,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. “We are
better. Philly is better. The Nets clearly are better. New York is
better. I guess that is fun for you guys, but I like it the way it has
been, personally. It has been pretty nice for us, and now it is going to
be hard, but it should be hard, at the end of the day, if you are
trying to win something.”

Back at the Wells Fargo Center tonight. Even if it is meaningless, it's something. We're getting a little excited to have some round ball back in our life.
