Now that Sam Hinkie went and traded Spencer Hawes and Evan Turner, the 27 games left on the Sixers' slate this season are going to be brutal. Not that they weren't going to be brutal before, but even more so now without two of their old starters.
One of the lone aspects of the stretch run that Sixers fans could maybe look forward to the rest of the way is the debut of rookie Nerlens Noel. Whether we actually see that or not remains to be seen.
But Nerlens is around, looming. He's tough to miss, too. As are his sneakers apparently.
Noel was in North Philly on Thursday night to take in the UConn vs. Temple game which found Fran Dunphy's bunch on the losing end. Pretty common these days.
Local photographer and The700Level.com contributor Tug Haines was courtside and noticed the absolutely ostentatious kicks on Noel's feet. Those things are sparkly.
Hopefully we'll get to see Nerlens turn garbage into gold on the court in South Philly one of these days real soon.
