Chase Utley almost forgot what playoff atmosphere was like

The end has long been official but like any serious relationship it's hard not to occasionally look back.

So it's only natural that we check in with our former man crushes to see what they're up to from time to time. As for The Man, Chase Utley, he's found himself in a role he's not very familiar with: that of a utility player in Los Angeles.

But as Philadelphia Phillies fans know very well, Chase will do whatever he can to help his team win, no matter the role.

Utley hasn't exactly lit it up for the Dodgers, batting .212 since joining Don Mattingly's squad, but he's found himself in a position he almost forgot existed. He's on a playoff contender with a serious shot at a World Series. The Dodgers hold a fairly comfortable 7.0 game lead over the Giants in the NL West and Utley is all, "playoffs? what are those?!"

The L.A. Times has a piece on Utley adjusting to his new role that provided this quote that just made the Phillies fan in me quite sad:

“I almost forgot what it’s like to be in this type of atmosphere,” Utley said. “It’s definitely refreshing, it’s fun and it’s going to be exciting.”

Yep, sad.
