The Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness and funds for ALS research is all the rage on the Internet this week. Roy Halladay has done it. Hockey players have had gallons of water dumped on them out of helicopters. Evan Turner did it. A penguin got involved. The Phanatic played his part.
Everybody's doing it. So it's no surprise that Philadelphia Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. accepted the challenge from his former ace Roy Halladay. That's not exactly newsworthy. But I want to take a look at the guys Amaro nominated to do the challenge.
New York Yankees GM Brian Cashman, Boston Red Sox GM Ben Cherington, and Arizona Diamondbacks GM Kevin Towers.
Does this mean we should throw cold water on the red hot rumors of a blockbuster Cole Hamels deal with the Red Sox? Or give up hopes of a Marlon Byrd deal to the Yankees?
We'll just have to wait and see.
