Eagles players tweeting fire about Chip Kelly's release

Share

In a somewhat shocking move, the Philadelphia Eagles released Chip Kelly on Tuesday night, ending his three-year run as the head coach of Jeffrey Lurie's football team.

So much for our opinion earlier in the week that Chip Kelly deserved one more year.

The reactions are pouring in and of course we are all curious about what his current and former players had to say about the move.

On-again-off-again Eagle Emmanuel Acho -- perhaps best known for going to a prom -- went right for the jugular with a subtweet of a famous quote.

Other reactions include a report that Eagles players were not informed of the move before the general public:

Checking in with Donovan McNabb:

And this from Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, "Just talked to Chip Kelly, disappointed how it ended but knows it's a results-oriented biz. Insists he wants to remain in the NFL, not college. Was pulled into mtg w owner, said he didn't fight the decision."

We will update this post as more reactions from players come out...
