Jason Peters calls out Philly beat writer

It seems like the Philadelphia Eagles players have been paying quite a bit of attention to what fans and the media have to say about them lately.

First, it was Brandon Graham blocking everyone and their mother on Twitter. And now it's Jason Peters calling out a reporter for pointing out he's on the tail end of his (nearly) Hall of Fame career.

It started with a post by Eagles writer for Philly Voice, Jimmy Kempski, about 5 offensive players who he believed shouldn't be back next year. Peters' name was on the list.

LT Jason Peters: Peters turns 34 in January and is currently the third-oldest offensive lineman in the NFL. While Peters has had a tremendous career and is a borderline Hall of Fame talent (he isn't getting in), his career is clearly in decline and he has experienced multiple injuries of the "nagging" variety this season. In 2016, he'll count for $9,300,000, of which the Eagles can save $6,300,000 by releasing or trading him. If the Eagles are realistic about their Super Bowl aspirations next season (they shouldn't have any), they could try to find a trade partner that is a legitimate contender in need of a tackle. They wouldn't get a ton for him, but with a large number of holes to fill, every lottery ticket counts.

Peters has been one of, if not the, greatest Eagles of the past decade, but as anyone who has seen "Creed" or watched Peters battle injury all season long, time always wins.

Kempski's take on Peters may be harsh for longtime Peters' fans, but it's not exactly a hot take. There is plenty of truth in his words, even if parting with an all-time great is tough to swallow.

Peters however, wasn't down with it and posted the following message on Instagram (sic'd), "Jimmy kempski is the guy that wrote this I guess he no something I don't this is crazy and to let it be none I am the best we got and he talking this crazy stuff. What y'all think eagle fans I wouldn't be surprised if they did tho eagle for life."

Like watching the Eagles this season, it's just sad.
