You've seen like a million of those ALS #IceBucketChallenge videos already, right? You know the deal--some unlucky but good-spirited chap pours a bucket of ice water over his or her self, then challenges several of their friends (or several celebrities, or several celebrity friends) to do the same, or else donate $100 to ALS-related charities. (Or do both, the rules don't seem particularly fixed on this.) They're cute, they're funny, they (somewhat ironically) give you a nice warm feeling, but after watching one or two, you kinda get the picture.
But as with many things in this world, nobody does the ALS Challenge quite like Dikembe Mutombo. The former Sixers Defensive Player of the Year undertook the challenge after being called out by that scamp of a commissioner Adam Silver, and posted the results to Instagram over the weekend.
Anytime you can get Dikembe yelling at a camera, it's bound to be a pretty good show. But it's the seven-footer's delayed full-body shiver reaction and accompanying blood-curdled scream that makes this a must-watch. (Also, the "Edited by @jaymutombo" tag at the end is pretty adorable.)
Not sure if there's a Philly athlete past or present could really challenge this.
