For some reason, the Philadelphia Phillies television broadcast team is stationed out in center field at Citizens Bank Park for Friday's contest with the Atlanta Braves. The why is not important. The end result, though, is kind of awesome.
Well, the part where Kyle Kendrick surrendered a three-run blast off the bat of Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman in the first inning certainly was not awesome. But Phillies play-by-play announce Tom McCarthy catching it out of the air was something, as was his throwing the ball back on to the field at the prodding of color commentator Jamie Moyer.
