Most Philadelphia Eagles fans are excited to see how Chip Kelly will integrate Darren Sproles into his high powered offense this coming season. He's going to be one of the major players attempting to help replace the production lost when DeSean Jackson took his speed to the Washington Redskins.
There was a quick debate about whether Sproles was a running back or a receiver a few weeks back. That all seemed rather moot since everyone seems to know he's going to be catching a lot of balls, position titles aside.
But what's not debatable is just how quick the spry running back's feet are. The NFL's leading rusher has even taken notice.
Shady McCoy spoke recently with NFL Media's Rich Eisen and showered rather high praise upon his new teammate's quickness. From NFL.com:
"Sproles has the quickest feet I've ever seen out of any player," McCoy said. "He'll help us out tremendously. I think the best thing about him, what he brings to this team is not only leadership and experience, but also just another big playmaker on the team. You talk about losing DeSean (Jackson), but I think Howie (Roseman) and Chip did a great job of bringing another playmaker to our team."
We took a look just yesterday at what the Sproles addition means to the Eagles backfield as a whole and came to the conclusion that he certainly improves the RB corp over last year.
Maybe we need some sort of nickname for the Shady-Sproles duo out of the backfield in 2014?
