There were no highlights in the Phillies game on Monday night. They managed just six hits and couldn't plate a single run. Pretty ugly loss to the Marlins.
But the pregame festivities honoring Jimmy Rollins becoming the Phillies All-Time hits leader? That had some highlights.
Anytime you put Pat Burrell on the field -- in a purple polo shirt under a Phillies jersey -- alongside Bobby Abreu -- a current member of the New York Mets... wearing a PHILLIES JERSEY -- it's a pretty good day.
Rollins was honored by many of his former teammates but also received a silver bat from Chase Utley and Ryan Howard.
J-Roll also received a free trip to Italy courtesy of the Phillies organization. Pretty nice pull.
A number of local and national celebrities recorded a video congratulating Rollins. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett was apparently booed by the Citizens Bank Park faithful. Derek Jeter showed up. Perhaps the most interesting was Rickey Henderson, J-Roll's idol as a kid. Others making an appearance included the Roots, Charles Barkley, some people from the Today Show, Shady McCoy, and Nick Foles.
Jimmy also took the time to thank the fans of Philadelphia:
