Only three players in NBA history have ever averaged 16, 6 and 6 as a rookie. Two of them faced off on the softball field at McCoy Stadium on Sunday night, as Sixers point guard Michael Carter-Williams stepped to the plate to take on Hall-of-Famer Magic Johnson, in the Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity All-Star Softball Classic. (The third, Oscar Robertson, was not said to be in attendance, but no doubt sends his regards.)
And how did MCW fare in taking on the gold standard of plus-sized point guards, not to mention an early supporter of his? He took him yard, natch.

Jeffrey Osborne softball classic was a great experience. Met so many people and I'm glad I was apart of something so fun. And the results are in...... Homer center field #doIplaythewrongsport #MiniBoJackson
Well, good to see that the shoulder is apparently feeling OK, anyway. We hesitate to say that MCW should be trying the two-sport thing just yet, but considering that Marlon Byrd might be the only Phillies outfielder to reach double-digits in dingers this year, we could probably use his pop in center if he has a couple weeks to spare before the Sixers open training camp this September.
